Are you interested in conducting a meta-analysis or systematic literature review?
This week-long International School will teach you how to conduct a systematic review or systematic map step-by-step. You will leave knowing what is needed to conduct rigorous evidence syntheses and what support is available to help you.
Are you working in research on social transformations?
You will spend the week amongst a group of other researchers from a diverse set of backgrounds and experiences learning evidence synthesis methods and how they can be applied in the context of sustainability transformations. After the workshop, all participants will be encouraged to jointly author a manuscript calling for a commitment towards rigorous evidence synthesis in the field.
You should feel welcome to join the International School if you work in any aspect of sustainability transformations in any social-ecological systems area (e.g., sustainable production frameworks, social equality and inclusivity, protection of labour rights for all people, biodiversity conservation, climate change mitigation) and have an interest in fostering more sustainable and equitable futures across different dimensions (e.g., social, environmental, economic and governance). We will be a diverse group of natural and social scientists, so everyone is welcome. Feel free to contact us if you're unsure.
We will provide detailed methodological guidance and training for all stages of a systematic review, from question formulation to communication.
We will spend time considering the theory behind the best practices and gain hands on experience undertaking review processes, such as formulating a question and building a search strategy.
We will also cover digital tools to support transparent, rigorous and efficient practices, and what support is available to help you complete your review, from methodological guidance documents to specialist peer-review.
You will spend the week amongst a group of other researchers from a diverse set of backgrounds and experiences thinking about research into social transformations, from agro-ecology to decarbonisation.
The programme will feature a range of breakout groups, networking activities, and guest presentations that will allow you to discuss many aspects of farming and agricultural research. We welcome researchers working in any aspect of agriculture and farming, from quantitative science to qualitative social science.
Our aim is to foster a topic-specific community of practice amongst researchers passionate about providing robust evidence for decision-making.
